Nelson No. 9 Remembers
0n November 10 Nelson # 9 held its annual Remembrance Ceremony held at the Standbridge Memorial Hall. Attendance included our Most Worshipful Grand Master John A. Prosnick and his delegation including Deputy Grand Master RW Bro. Opkar Sandu, and the Grand Director of Ceremonies RW Bro. Bob McConnell. Among the quests were veterans from the area and their ladies, as well as a 2nd year Beaver from the local scout group.

Committee Report – EDUCATION and TRAINING
The components of the Education & Training programme are evolving in light of recent world developments. For example, a programme that relies heavily on or is based on considerable travel could not be looked upon favourably at this time. Nor would one that is based on extensive use of snail-mail. This leads us to conclude that it is a necessity that an "educational network" quickly be established and made functional.

Education & Training Committee Call for Volunteers
As noted in its committee report, the 2005-2006 Education & Training Committee has been tasked with the development of several degree teams that might provide assistance or educational opportunities for Québec Masons generally. To this end, we are pleased to report that the foundations for two such teams have been established.

Supreme Queen of the Nile Visits Montreal
On Sunday October 23rd 2005 Karnak Temple had the privilege to be visited by the Supreme Queen of the Nile Billie W. Davis. This formal dinner was put on by our Queen of the Nile Yvonne Buckley and her princesses. The invited guests to this event were, representing the Shriners Hospital, Noble Gary Morrison and Lady Ghislaine; Potentate of Karnak, Ill. Sir Rory MacLennan and lady Kathy; and our Grand Master M.W. Bro. John Prosnick and lady Ginette.

Dinner With District Three
On Saturday, October 23rd 2005, Montreal's District No. 3 held their annual dinner at the Days Inn in St. Laurent. At this occasion the past District Deputy Grand Master R.W. Bro. Michael Finnerty was honored for the work and harmony he had brought to district during his time in office.

Members of Century Lodge #100 welcomed the Most Worshipful Grand Master, John Prosnick, and a delegation of past and present Grand Lodge of Quebec officers on Saturday, September 10, 2005. The evening concluded with a banquet served to some forty members, visitors and wives.

The Karnak Ladies, the auxiliary of the Canadian Shriners Hospital in Montreal, celebrated its 80th Anniversary at Karnak Shrine Center on Friday, October 14th, 2005. Over one hundred guests and members attended the gala wine and cheese evening. Everyone enjoyed reminiscing, exchanging memories and meeting new and old friends.

Le 18 juin 2005 au club de Golf de Pointe du Lac a eu lieu le tournoi de golf au profit de la Maison Albatros Inc. , près de 115 personnes y ont participé. Une somme de 500.00$ dollars a été remise à cet organisme voué au bien-être des personnes malades en phase terminale.

Using some of the proceeds from the annual St. Francis District Golf Tournament and with assistance from the Masonic Foundation of Quebec, the brethren of this district donated $1000 to the well known and highly respected palliative care institution, La Maison de Aube Lumière, in Sherbrooke.

The Rawdon Shrine Club held their annual pancake dinner fundraiser on October 23rd 2005 at the College Champagner on Queen Street in Rawdon. As usual, the food was prepared by the Shriners and an excellent meal was had by all. As you can see by the photos these masons know how to put on a spread.
