Grand Lodge Visits the Gaspé
Every two years the Grand Lodge of Quebec makes a visit to the Gaspé region of Quebec in order to keep in touch with two lodges there – Good Samaritan Lodge No. 68 and Century Lodge No. 100.

It is not always possible for brethren to make it out to a lodge meeting at night, and indeed many older masons are unable to drive after dark. It is for this reason that a little known lodge operating out of the Masonic Memorial Temple was set up in 1987.

Thirty Brethren from Bedford District representing all the nine Lodges participated at the District Booth at Brome Fair, Brome, Qc. this past Labor Day weekend from Friday September 2nd till Monday, September 5th (Labor Day).
Every day there were at least two Brethren on duty passing out Masonic Pamphlets & Brochures, plus candy and gum to the children .At this INFORMATION BOOTH Brethren were standing by to answer any questions. As a result the Craft was fortunate to receive a few prospective candidates.

During the late 1980s, among the residents of the Wales Home were 18 or 19 who were brethren of the craft. At that time, it was the policy of Richmond's St. Francis Lodge No.15, that any Mason who was a resident of the 'Home' was also made an honorary member of St. Francis Lodge. But some of those brethren were simply unable to climb the stairs to reach the lodge room of St. Francis. It was for this reason that the Grand Master at the time suggested that on one occasion each year, St. Francis Lodge should move its Charter to the Wales Home, there to conduct a meeting.

Wisdom, Strength, Beauty
A column is an around pillar made to support as well as to adorn a building, whose construction varies in the different orders of architecture . Among the Hebrews, columns, or pillars, were used metaphorically to signify princes or nobles, as if they were the pillars of a state . In Masonry, Columns have a symbolic signification as the supports of a Lodge. The Broken Column is also a symbol in Masonry. Tonight, I shall speak about these Columns, about their origins and about their Masonic meaning.

Br. Roberts and his Big Fish
Brent Roberts MM of Thistle Lodge No. 96 was salmon fishing on Lake Ontario out of St. Catherines on the 23 of August 2005 and landed this 18lb COHO. When you are a Mason, good things happen.

Masonic Play to be Performed
M.W. Bro. John Prosnick will visit Browne Lodge No. 24 on October 15th. In the course of the visit a short play in 3 parts pertaining to the death of GMHA will be performed by the cast of Victoria Council No. 4 and Son Shem Council No 17 of The Eastern Jurisdiction of Canada, Royal & Select Masters (Cryptic Rite). 2005 Shrine Bowl
October 15th is also the date of the annual Shrine Bowl, this year pitting Concordia University vs Universite de Montreal.

Bedford District Dinner & Dance
The Grand Master will be attending the Bedford District Dinner and Dance at 6:30pm on October 22nd.
