Hats off to Bro. Ray Darlington and Bro. John Waagen, the two Shrine-Masons who are trying to put on a one-day class. These brethren are doing something to try and increase membership in our lodges, and in the Shrine. I applaud them for not just sitting around and bellyaching as many are doing; they stepped forward and said "I will put on a one-day class."

Tablée festive historique

Le plus vénérable grand maître John A. Prosnick est enchanté d'annoncer que le plus vénérable frère Gary L. Atkinson, grand maître de la Grande loge du Canada dans la province d'Ontario, a accepté d'envoyer un représentant officiel et une délégation pour assister à la tablée de la Grande loge du Québec/Prince Hall qui aura lieu le 8 avril 2006 à la salle Harmonie située à Pierrefonds, Québec.
Historic Table Lodge to be Held

The M.W. Grand Master John A. Prosnick is pleased to announce that M. W. Bro. Gary L. Atkinson, Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Canada in the Province of Ontario has accepted to send an official representative and delegation to attend the Grand Lodge of Quebec / Prince Hall Table Lodge to take place at Harmony Hall in Pierrefonds, Quebec on Saturday April 8, 2006.
Karnak Shrine Installs New Divan

On January 7th 2006 the Ritual Cast in full costume installed the new potentate of Karnak Ill. Sir David Sweeney and the officers of his divan.
This is an open installation that families and friends may attend. The divan for 2006 is John McDonald, Ron Snow, Stephen Roberts, Gilbert Chartier, Richard Kearney, Leo Sculnik, William Pitts, and J.B. Djigounian. The potentate’s guest at the installation and the dinner afterwards was our own Grand Master M.W. Bro. John Prosnick.
Pourquoi les Maçons fêtent-ils les deux saints Jean ?

Le 27 décembre 2005, alors qu’il était en visite officielle à la Loge St. John no 3 de Québec et que je l’accompagnais pour ainsi fêter le solstice d’hiver et saint Jean l’Évangéliste, le Grand Maître, le PVF John A. Prosnick, me demanda d’expliquer par écrit les raisons pour lesquelles les Francs-maçons fêtent les deux saints Jean : Jean le Baptiste le 24 juin ; Jean l’Évangéliste le 27 décembre. Voici le fruit de mes recherches.

"Dans mon pays d’origine, le Chili, mon cher père avait des amis Francs-Maçons. Et il était intéressé à le devenir. En plus, le Président de la république à l’époque, le Dr Salvador Allende, était aussi Franc-Maçon. Après le coup d’état, mon père a dû fuir et il a perdu ses contacts. Alors depuis ce temps, j’avais 8 ans, j’ai toujours entendu de bons commentaires sur la Maçonnerie. "

Daughters of the Nile Reception
The Daughters will hold a special reception on March 18th at which their new officers will be installed. M.W. Br. John Prosnick has been invited to attend.

St. Patrick's Day Parade (March 19)
The Shriners will be marching in this year's St. Patrick's Day Parade. M.W. Br. John Prosnick is expected to join them. Full details here.

GM's Visit to Coeurs Unis
M.W. Br. John Prosnick will make his official visit to La Loge des Coeurs Unis on March 22nd.

Concordant Bodies
The next meeting of the Concordant Bodies will be held March 29th.

Table Lodge with Prince Hall Masons
A special Table Lodge with the Prince Hall Masons will take place on Saturday evening, April 8, 2006 at the Montreal Memorial Temple. Details Here. By special invitation of the Grand Master, participants in the "one-day" class taking place the morning of April 8 at Harmony Hall are invited to attend.
