One Day Class - Some Questions
The subject of One-Day classes is very much on the minds of the Brethren these days, not only in Québec. I thank you for taking time to answer these queries. I see them as neither pro, nor against the subject. They do, however, reflect how the subject of one-day Masonry is fraught with emotion and dissention. My only conclusion is that the only way for both sides to come to any sort of agreement, someone must answer the very tough and valid questions the Brethren are now asking.

One Day Class - Some Answers
I must congratulate W.B. John Taylor-Johnson on a well written article which in essence sums up the argument against "one day" classes. There are two sides to every story and the lines of masonry are drawn between the pro and anti one day class. It is my firm belief that any lodge or district that wants to have and request of the G.M. a one day class should have the right to do so without criticism. Just as I believe that if lodges or districts do not wish to participate, which is also their right, they should also do so without criticism.

Profundities of the Grand Master
A man and his wife were having some problems at home and were giving each other the silent treatment. Suddenly the man realized that the next day he would need his wife to wake him at 5:00 AM for an early morning business flight. Not wanting to be the first to break the silence (and LOSE), he wrote on a piece of paper, "Please wake me at 5:00 AM." He left it where he knew she would find it.

Did God Create Evil?
A student offers an insightful response to this question posed by his university professor.

Did God Create Evil?

The university professor challenged his students with this question: "Did God create everything that exists?"

A student bravely replied "Yes, he did!"

"God created everything?" the professor asked.

"Yes sir," the student replied.

The professor answered, "If God created everything, then God created evil since evil exists, and according to the principal that our works define who we are, then God is evil."

The Candidate
It was his dream to become a Mason,
Though he wasn't sure quite why.
So he made an application,
Then waited months for a reply.

Did You Know?
At local taverns, pubs, and bars, people drank from pint and quart-sized containers. A bar maid's job was to keep an eye on the customers and keep the drinks coming. She had to pay close attention and remember who was drinking in "pints" and who was drinking in "quarts," hence the term "minding your "P's and Q's."

Thinking Outside the Box
Interesting little story a friend sent to me. Makes you pause and think.

Imagine you are at an airport. While you're waiting for your flight, you notice a kiosk selling cookies. You buy a box, put them in your traveling bag and then you patiently search for an available seat so you can sit down and enjoy your cookies. Finally, you find a seat next to a gentleman. You reach down into your traveling bag and pull out your box of cookies. As you do so, you notice that the gentleman starts watching you intensely. He stares as you open the box and his eyes follow your hand as you pick up the cookie and bring it to your mouth. Just then he reaches over and takes one of your cookies from the box, and eats it!
